Reed Biochar Addition to Composite Filler Enhances Nitrogen Removal from BDBR Systems in Eutrophic Rivers Channel

چکیده
With the rapid development of urbanization in China, eutrophication or black stink urban rivers has become a critical environmental problem. As research hotspot wastewater purification, biofilm technology shortcomings, such as insufficient carbon sources for denitrification. This study used Biofilm Denitrification Batch Reactor (BDBR) system constructed using reed biochar source required denitrification, significantly accelerating formation. To determine suitable amount water purification from eutrophic by BDBR system, 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15% was added to viscose fiber combined packing. The packing reactor involved this had high removal efficiency channel COD throughout experiment. However, adding 5% 10% filler effectively increased number nitrifying denitrifying bacteria on biofilm, improved dominant diversity microbial activity, enhanced denitrification system. It provides new ideas methods developing applying situ polluted rivers.

Removal of Ammoniacal-Nitrogen Removal From an Artificial Landfill Leachate in Downflow Reed Beds
The fate of ammoniacal-nitrogen (NH4-N) was studied in a lab-scale downflow reed bed system treating an artificial landfill leachate. Individual reed beds were submerged by the leachate, then drained and rinsed by tap water. It was discovered that NH4-N was removed by a two-staged process, adsorption onto the reed bed media followed by nitrification into nitrite-nitrogen (NO2-N) and nitrate-nit...
متن کاملAssessment of addition of biochar to filtering mixtures for potential water pollutant removal
Green roofs are used increasingly to alleviate peaks of water discharge into the sewage systems in urban areas. Surface runoff from roofs contain pollutants from dry and wet deposition, and green roofs offer a possibility to reduce the amounts of pollutants in the water discharged from roofs by degradation and filtering. These pollutants would otherwise enter wastewater treatments plants and ul...
متن کاملNitrogen Addition Enhances Drought Sensitivity of Young Deciduous Tree Species
Understanding how trees respond to global change drivers is central to predict changes in forest structure and functions. Although there is evidence on the mode of nitrogen (N) and drought (D) effects on tree growth, our understanding of the interplay of these factors is still limited. Simultaneously, as mixtures are expected to be less sensitive to global change as compared to monocultures, we...
متن کاملNitrogen removal in constructed wetland systems
Since the mid 1990s, constructed wetlands have been increasingly used as a lowenergy ‘green’ technique, in the treatment of wastewater and stormwater, driven by the rising cost of fossil fuels and increasing concern about climate change. Among various applications of these wetlands, a significant area is the removal of nitrogenous pollutants to protect the water environment and to enable effect...
متن کاملFiller particle size and composite resin classification systems.
The currently used composite resin classification systems need review if they are to continue to serve as descriptives and quantitative parameters denoting the filler particle content of these materials. Examination of the particles in 12 composite resins using a technique of washing the filler particles from the matrix of the composite resin was presented as yet another method of grouping comp...
